Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Maintenance Technician to join a skilled property maintenance team in Golden Valley, MN. This hands-on position assists with work orders, preventative maintenance, unit preparation, repairs, and general property upkeep.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and interested in developing their maintenance skills while building a long-term career in property and facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned maintenance service requests and work orders.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and routine property repairs.
- Support the make-ready process for vacant units.
- Assist with monitoring building systems and responding to maintenance needs.
- Safely use hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain inventory and work within established expense guidelines.
- Perform groundskeeping duties, including trash pickup, sweeping, and light landscaping.
- Assist with special projects and repairs as directed by management.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of completed work.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, vendors, coworkers, and management.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Must be able to pass a background check upon job offer.
- Basic tool set required.
- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn maintenance and repair skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Dependable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Interest in obtaining a CPO License and Special Boiler License.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, kneel, and perform other physical maintenance activities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily at residential properties and facility locations.
- Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Frequent physical activity throughout the workday.
- May work indoors and outdoors depending on maintenance needs.
- Occasional overtime or after-hours work may be required.
- Participation in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance is required.
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
