Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist – Mill Turn / Lathe to join a growing team in a clean, bright, and highly advanced medical device manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating sophisticated CNC Mill Turn and Nakamura Lathe equipment to manufacture highly complex precision components for the medical device industry.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-focused, and experienced in CNC machining. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with cutting-edge machining and automation technology while producing precision components for the medical device industry.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Setup & Operation
- Set up and operate CNC Mill Turn I150 machines and/or CNC Nakamura Lathe machines
- Read, edit, and troubleshoot CNC code in collaboration with Engineering teams and according to company SOPs
- Manufacture precision components by interpreting blueprints, operation instructions, manufacturing specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Monitor machining processes and make appropriate adjustments to maintain production and quality standards
- Complete part-finishing operations, including deburring and abrasive finishing
Quality & Inspection
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Verify dimensional and surface conformity according to specifications
- Monitor inspection data and make appropriate manufacturing process adjustments
- Maintain accuracy while producing highly complex medical device components
- Follow established quality procedures and documentation requirements
Equipment & Production Support
- Maintain tooling, machinery, and work areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and production team members to meet manufacturing goals
- Complete required production documentation and computer entries
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum of 3–5 years of CNC machining experience in Mill Turn and/or Lathe operations
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read advanced mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of metrology principles and complex part-inspection techniques
- Strong computer skills with the ability to access, create, and log production data
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Positive attitude and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and learn advanced automation techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout 12-hour shifts
- Ability to frequently operate CNC machinery and perform precision inspection work
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to safely handle and inspect precision components
Preferred
- Experience with Nakamura equipment and/or I150 machines
- Ability to read and write CNC macros
- Previous experience machining complex medical device components
- Experience working with advanced CNC automation technology
Working Conditions:
- Clean, climate-controlled medical device manufacturing environment
- Weekend schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts
- Frequent standing, machine operation, inspection work, and handling of precision components
- Regular interaction with CNC machinery, cutting tools, measuring equipment, and automated manufacturing technology
