Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Rogers, MN. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring thermoforming equipment, supplying materials, inspecting finished products, completing production documentation, and supporting overall production efficiency.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, previous forklift experience, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn new equipment and processes. Previous thermoforming experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor thermoforming equipment to maintain efficient production.
- Complete required training on equipment, safety procedures, and operating processes.
- Feed rolls of material through thermoforming equipment.
- Install roll shafts and use hoists to load materials onto the unwind stand.
- Make basic machine adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Supply the thermoformer with the correct materials, boxes, bags, and other production supplies.
- Perform visual inspections of finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Complete production paperwork, quality checklists, and daily scrap reports accurately.
- Wrap completed pallets and transport finished products to the warehouse.
- Follow recycling procedures for plastic scrap, cardboard, and cores.
- Assist Set-Up Technicians with machine setups and production quality.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance, including lubrication and equipment cleaning.
- Safely operate forklifts to move materials and finished products.
- Safely load finished products into semi-trailers.
- Use hand tools and measuring devices, including tape measures, as needed.
- Provide break relief for Operators and Packers as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report safety concerns.
- Perform additional production duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing equipment.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Ability to safely use hand tools and accurately read a tape measure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Previous thermoforming experience preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred.
- Experience performing basic preventative maintenance preferred.
- Ability to occasionally lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to lift and install roll shafts into material rolls.
- Ability to safely operate hoists and material handling equipment.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to safely perform physical job duties in a warm manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with thermoforming and other production equipment.
- Work is performed in a warm production environment.
- Frequent interaction with machinery, forklifts, hoists, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Regular exposure to typical manufacturing noise and production activity.
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Strong focus on maintaining established safety, quality, and production standards.
