Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Associate – Racking to support plating operations in Brooklyn Park, MN. This position is responsible for preparing metal parts for plating by racking, wiring, and masking components according to work order specifications.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and can consistently follow established production and safety procedures. Previous racking or plating experience is helpful but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Part Preparation & Racking
- Rack, wire, and mask metal parts according to work orders and plating requirements
- Read and interpret work orders to determine part size, material, and required treatments
- Properly position and secure parts to prepare them for the plating process
- Ensure parts are appropriately protected and prepared to achieve high-quality plating results
- Handle parts and materials carefully to prevent damage during preparation
Quality & Production Support
- Collaborate with supervisors and quality personnel to verify correct part preparation
- Inspect prepared parts for accuracy before they move to the next stage of production
- Follow established racking and production procedures
- Maintain consistent productivity while meeting quality expectations
- Communicate concerns regarding parts, work orders, or production requirements to appropriate team members
Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and production procedures
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Properly handle materials and equipment throughout the shift
- Assist with additional production responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written work instructions
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with racking, wiring, and masking parts
- Ability to constantly lift and carry up to 15 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Preferred
- Previous racking or plating shop experience
- Previous manufacturing or production experience
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with regular exposure to chemicals, plating equipment, and production machinery
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive movements throughout the shift
- Regular handling of metal parts, racks, wires, and other production materials
- Physically active and fast-paced production environment
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Work requires consistent attention to safety, quality, accuracy, and productivity
