Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Production Technician – Hand Blast to perform manual blasting and surface preparation on metal components. This hands-on production position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established processes, and comfort performing repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.
The ideal candidate has a stable work history, basic computer skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and follow detailed production instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hand blasting on metal components according to work instructions and quality standards.
- Prepare parts for the blasting and surface preparation process.
- Clean and inspect components before and after blasting.
- Verify completed parts meet established quality requirements.
- Read and follow written processes, labels, part specifications, and production instructions.
- Handle parts carefully to prevent damage during processing.
- Enter basic production information using a computer.
- Identify and communicate quality or production concerns to supervisors.
- Safely use hand tools and equipment required for surface preparation.
- Follow all established safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and production team members.
- Support additional production responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Stable work history required.
- Ability to read, write, speak clearly, and understand English.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions, labels, and part specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Comfortable performing repetitive manual and hands-on work throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and production equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand for most of the workday.
- Ability to frequently use hands and arms for repetitive blasting and surface preparation tasks.
- Ability to bend, reach, walk, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Metal finishing and production environment.
- Regular use of hand blasting and surface preparation equipment.
- Moderate manufacturing noise levels.
- Frequent standing, walking, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Work requires consistent attention to detail and adherence to established production processes.
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other protective equipment as required.
- Must follow established equipment operation and workplace safety procedures.
