Job Summary:
We are seeking a mechanically inclined Assembly Mechanic to join a fast-paced manufacturing team in Brooklyn Park, MN. This role is a strong fit for individuals with hands-on experience working on cars, engines, diesel systems, heavy equipment, manufacturing equipment, or other mechanical systems. The position involves assembling high-quality components and systems according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and established quality standards.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys working with tools and equipment, and can safely perform detailed assembly work in a production environment. Reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a strong focus on safety in all daily activities.
• Assemble components and systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Use mechanical hand tools, torque tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and metric measurements.
• Complete accurate electronic and manual documentation related to production and quality.
• Identify, document, and communicate assembly or quality issues and assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and hoists safely as required.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production, quality, and safety goals.
• Perform assigned tasks independently with limited supervision once trained.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on mechanical experience in manufacturing, automotive, diesel, equipment repair, or a similar environment, or completion of a technical/trade school program in a mechanical or manufacturing-related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, or technical work instructions.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and hoists; training may be provided if needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team environment.
• Dependable with strong attendance and a consistent work ethic.
Working Conditions:
• Manufacturing environment with active production equipment, machinery, and material handling operations.
• Frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand and work for up to 8-hour shifts with minimal breaks.
• Frequent kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, and work in tight or awkward spaces.
• Ability to work at various heights, including climbing on equipment, machines, ladders, and step stools.
• Exposure to fluctuating temperatures and typical industrial manufacturing conditions.
• Frequent repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, and rotational movements.
• Fine motor skills required for detailed and precision assembly work.
• Regular use of wrenches, drills, cutters, tie wrap guns, pneumatic and vibratory tools, and manual torque tools up to 250 Newton meters or 185 foot-pounds.
• Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed/metatarsal footwear, and dust masks as needed.
