Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Assembly Technician I – Wire Harnesses to join a growing prototype shop team in Eden Prairie, MN. This role involves assembling electrical wire harnesses according to engineering specifications, blueprints, and bills of materials in a dynamic prototype environment.
Unlike repetitive production assembly roles, this position offers the opportunity to build a wide variety of unique harnesses, making the work engaging and challenging. No previous wire harness experience is required — training is available for motivated candidates eager to learn and grow in a technical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Wire Harness Assembly
• Assemble electrical wire harnesses according to engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and tooling instructions
• Use standard assembly tools including screwdrivers, wire strippers, wrenches, hand crimp tools, and soldering equipment
• Perform manual and machine-assisted assembly operations with accuracy and efficiency
• Interpret sketches, prints, and engineering notes to produce dimensionally accurate harnesses

Testing & Documentation
• Read and interpret detailed wire harness prints and documentation
• Operate testing software and assist with troubleshooting electrical harness issues
• Document discrepancies and communicate issues to engineers and designers
• Assist in creating and reviewing assembly instructions and testing documentation
• Use computer systems to maintain documentation and production records

Working Conditions:
• Prototype shop and engineering environment with exposure to assembly tools and equipment
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to stand throughout the shift and operate foot controls as needed
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 lbs
• Requires focus, depth perception, and color vision for detailed assembly work
