Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Fixture Builder to join a growing manufacturing team in Blaine, MN. This position is responsible for assembling custom fixtures using a variety of materials, including wood, steel, foam, pins, and other components.
The Fixture Builder will work with pre-cut materials and use hand and power tools to produce accurate, functional tooling. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, enjoys hands-on work, and is comfortable following multi-step assembly processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Fixture Assembly & Fabrication
- Assemble custom fixtures using wood, steel, pins, foam, and other materials
- Work with pre-cut materials and components to build finished tooling products
- Follow instructions, layouts, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly
- Inspect completed work to ensure fixtures meet quality requirements
Tool Use & Measurement
- Safely and effectively operate hand and power tools
- Read and use a tape measure to ensure precise measurements
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the building process
- Properly handle tools, materials, and components during production
Production Support
- Organize materials and components to maintain an efficient workflow
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and production guidelines
- Assist with additional production duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good memory and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive manual tasks
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 75 pounds
- Manual dexterity necessary to safely operate hand and power tools
Preferred
- Previous woodworking, welding, fabrication, or mechanical experience
- Previous manufacturing or production experience
- Experience assembling products from layouts, instructions, or specifications
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with regular exposure to tools, materials, machinery, and production equipment
- Hands-on, fast-paced production setting
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and material handling throughout the shift
- Regular use of hand and power tools
- Required adherence to company safety procedures and appropriate PPE requirements
