Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Cylindrical Grinder Machinist to set up and operate CNC ID and OD cylindrical grinding equipment. This position is responsible for performing precision grinding operations while ensuring finished components meet engineering specifications, quality requirements, and production deadlines.
The ideal candidate has strong CNC grinder setup experience, a working knowledge of GD&T, and the ability to accurately inspect finished components using precision measurement tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC ID and OD cylindrical grinders.
- Perform precision grinding operations according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed to maintain required specifications and tolerances.
- Monitor machining processes to maintain established production and quality standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Apply working knowledge of GD&T principles when producing and inspecting components.
- Inspect finished parts using appropriate precision measurement and inspection tools.
- Verify components meet customer specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Complete assigned jobs according to established production schedules and due dates.
- Accurately report job progress using the company's scheduling and production systems.
- Assist with fabricating new components according to engineering drawings.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow all established safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional machining responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to independently set up and operate CNC ID and OD cylindrical grinders required.
- Working knowledge of GD&T principles required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Proficiency using precision measurement and inspection tools to verify finished components.
- Basic computer skills for production tracking and scheduling systems.
- Ability to work efficiently according to established deadlines and production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision and quality.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Two-year Machine Tool diploma or degree, or equivalent hands-on machining experience, preferred.
- Previous experience fabricating components from engineering drawings preferred.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while operating manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and precision hand movements throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with CNC grinding operations.
Working Conditions:
- Precision manufacturing environment with regular exposure to CNC grinding and machining equipment.

- Regular exposure to typical machining materials, coolants, and production activity.
