Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Metal Finisher / Grinder to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for grinding, polishing, and finish sanding aluminum and stainless steel components to meet established production and quality specifications.
The ideal candidate has hands-on metal finishing experience, strong attention to detail, and takes pride in consistently producing high-quality finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rough grinding on aluminum and stainless steel components to remove imperfections.
- Polish and finish sand metal parts according to production specifications.
- Use grinders, sanders, polishing tools, and other finishing equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain consistent finish levels across completed components.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, appearance, and accuracy.
- Identify surface imperfections and determine appropriate finishing techniques.
- Rework components as necessary to meet established quality requirements.
- Follow production schedules and work instructions.
- Handle metal components carefully to prevent damage during the finishing process.
- Inspect finishing tools and equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily goals.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements.
- Assist with additional production and shop responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience finishing aluminum and/or stainless steel required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with grinding, polishing, and finish sanding metal components.
- Ability to safely operate grinders, sanders, polishing tools, and related finishing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high-quality finishes.
- Ability to identify surface imperfections and quality concerns.
- Strong manual dexterity and ability to safely handle metal components and finishing tools.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work overtime and assist with various shop responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and handle materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.

- Hands-on metal fabrication and manufacturing environment.
- Regular exposure to grinding, sanding, polishing, and other metal finishing operations.
- Exposure to dust, noise, metal components, machinery, and finishing equipment.
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive movement.
- Fast-paced production environment focused on quality and efficiency.
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must follow established equipment operation and workplace safety procedures.
