Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and dependable Production Floater / Utility Operator to support multiple departments within a manufacturing facility. This hands-on position involves moving between production areas, including railing production and metal finishing, based on daily operational needs.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, reliable, and eager to learn different manufacturing processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support multiple manufacturing departments, including railing production and metal finishing.
- Move between production areas based on daily staffing and operational needs.
- Assist with metal fabrication, finishing, assembly, and general production activities.
- Operate basic production equipment and safely use hand tools as assigned.
- Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Adapt quickly to changing assignments, workflows, and production priorities.
- Assist with material handling and movement throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Follow established work instructions and production procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with additional shop and production responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with metal fabrication or finishing processes preferred.
- Ability to work in a flexible, cross-functional manufacturing role.
- Willingness to learn multiple production processes and support different departments.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and established production procedures.
- Comfortable working around manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials as required by assigned tasks.
- Ability to perform physically demanding manufacturing responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to metal materials, machinery, equipment, and noise.
- Work performed across multiple production departments based on operational needs.
- Physically active position involving frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling.
- Regular use of hand tools and manufacturing equipment.
- Work requires flexibility, attention to safety, and commitment to quality.
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
