Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating production equipment and performing a variety of manufacturing tasks, including inspecting, sorting, labeling, assembling, packaging, and documenting finished plastic components.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to work independently while consistently meeting production and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate one or multiple production processes with limited supervision
- Inspect, sort, count, assemble, label, package, and stage plastic components
- Monitor production processes to ensure products meet established quality specifications
- Meet or exceed production rate and scrap expectations outlined in job travelers
- Track manufactured and rejected parts accurately on production documentation
- Enter production information accurately into ERP and computer systems
- Complete required production paperwork and properly log in and out of assigned jobs
- Label finished products accurately and prepare materials for staging
- Trim excess material from components using knives or other approved hand tools
- Perform visual inspections to identify defects or quality concerns
- Maintain proper line separation and clearance between jobs and materials
- Keep tools, bags, equipment, and production materials organized
- Maintain a clean work area and complete required housekeeping at the end of jobs and shifts
- Follow all company safety, quality assurance, and production procedures
- Perform additional production responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience required
- Must have reliable transportation to consistently report to work
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and decimals
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow work instructions in English
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter production information
- Ability to safely use knives and other hand tools
- Good manual dexterity and visual inspection abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to accurately complete production documentation
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to maintain productivity while consistently meeting quality requirements
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to production machinery, equipment, and plastic components
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive movements
- Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 40 pounds
- Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills for inspecting, sorting, trimming, assembling, and packaging components
- Extended 12-hour shifts on Friday through Sunday requiring prolonged standing and physical activity
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to safely perform physical job duties while maintaining established production and quality standards
