Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Shop Cleaner to support a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment on 3rd shift. This position will primarily focus on sweeping and cleaning the production shop floor, removing debris, maintaining clear walkways, and assisting with general facility and production support tasks as needed.
Because this role works directly on an active manufacturing floor, previous manufacturing or industrial experience is required. Candidates must also have prior cleaning experience and understand the importance of working safely around production equipment, forklifts, machinery, and other shop-floor activity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sweep and clean production shop floors throughout the facility.
• Remove debris and help keep walkways, aisles, and work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Perform general industrial cleaning duties in production and common areas.
• Clean around manufacturing equipment while following all required safety procedures.
• Empty trash and dispose of materials in designated areas.
• Assist with relabeling materials, storage locations, equipment, or work areas as directed.
• Organize supplies and materials to help maintain an orderly production environment.
• Identify and report spills, hazards, damaged labels, or unsafe conditions.
• Follow all facility safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
• Work safely around production equipment, forklifts, machinery, and active manufacturing operations.
• Assist production and facility teams with additional cleaning and general support tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environment required.
• Previous cleaning, custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience required.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing and shop-floor safety practices.
• Ability to safely work around machinery, forklifts, production equipment, and pedestrian traffic.
• Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and surroundings.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Comfortable performing cleaning and general labor duties throughout the shift.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to assist with additional tasks including organizing and relabeling as needed.
Working Conditions:
• Active manufacturing environment with production equipment, machinery, forklifts, and material handling activity.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement.
• Ability to perform physical cleaning and general labor duties throughout the workday.
• Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions including noise, dust, varying temperatures, and moving equipment.
• Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to safely perform cleaning duties around active production operations.
