Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Swiss Machinist for a direct-hire opportunity in Hamel, MN. This position is responsible for setting up and operating Swiss-style CNC machines to produce high-precision components that meet established customer, quality, and production requirements.

The ideal candidate has previous machining experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent attention to detail. Previous Swiss machining and CNC setup experience are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate Swiss-style CNC machines according to production requirements.
Load raw materials and monitor machine operations throughout production runs.
Produce precision-machined components according to customer specifications and quality standards.
Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor machine adjustments as needed.
Monitor machine performance and make appropriate adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
Verify production output meets established tolerances and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and comparators.
Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality.
Accurately document inspection results and production records.
Identify and report quality concerns or non-conforming materials.
Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning activities.
Maintain tooling, fixtures, and workholding equipment.
Assist with troubleshooting machine issues and production challenges.
Report equipment concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, quality personnel, and other team members.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
Perform additional production duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous machining or CNC machine operation experience required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
Experience using precision measuring and inspection instruments.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality components.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and decimal calculations.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Previous Swiss machining experience preferred.
CNC setup experience preferred.
Experience working in a precision manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge of tooling, offsets, and machine adjustments preferred.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for machine operation and inspection activities.
Ability to safely lift, move, and carry materials and tooling as needed.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements.
Ability to safely work around manufacturing machinery and equipment.
