Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for MIG and TIG welding, fitting, assembling, and fabricating aluminum and stainless steel components according to blueprints and production specifications.
The ideal candidate has previous metal fabrication experience, strong welding skills, and the ability to take custom components from initial layout through final fabrication while maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel components.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble custom metal products according to blueprints and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication prints.
- Lay out, fit, and prepare materials for welding and assembly.
- Ensure welds meet established structural, cosmetic, and quality standards.
- Use calipers, squares, protractors, tape measures, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy and overall quality.
- Identify fabrication or quality issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain consistent workmanship while meeting established production deadlines.
- Assist with grinding, fitting, fabrication, and other shop responsibilities as needed.
- Safely operate welding and fabrication tools and equipment.
- Rotate between projects and responsibilities based on production needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient production workflow.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Perform additional production and fabrication duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience welding aluminum and/or stainless steel required.
- Previous metal fabrication experience required.
- Strong MIG and TIG welding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication prints.
- Experience fitting, assembling, and fabricating custom metal components.
- Proficiency using precision measuring tools.
- Experience in architectural or sheet metal fabrication preferred.
- Experience fabricating custom aluminum and stainless steel products preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must provide personal hand tools, including a protractor, square, dial caliper, tape measure, scribe, and dead blow hammer.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and handle materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, kneel, twist, and perform repetitive movements.
- Manual dexterity necessary to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Indoor manufacturing and metal fabrication environment.
- Regular exposure to welding fumes, shop noise, heat, metal materials, and fabrication equipment.
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and repetitive movement.
- Regular use of welding, fabrication, grinding, and measuring equipment.
- Fast-paced production environment requiring consistent attention to quality and accuracy.
- Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must follow established welding, equipment, and workplace safety procedures.
