This month, our town celebrated Rockin’ Rogers Days—a time to come together as a community, enjoy a little live music, parade, and reconnect with neighbors. For us, it’s also a reminder that serving where you live is just as important as working where you earn.
We have Rogers Royalty Alumni in-house! A volunteer program where local high school students become ambassadors for our city. They represent Rogers at events across Minnesota, embodying values of service, leadership, and pride.
Here’s the truth:
Aren’t we all ambassadors of our communities? Of our workplaces? Of our lives? Every day, in small ways, we’re showing people who we are and what we care about. As a Jesus follower I am letting my light shine every single day.
It’s easy to look at what someone else is doing and think, “Must be nice.” But the truth is, if you want to live where the grass is greener you need to water your own grass, don’t expect everyone else who “has it nice” to do it, they have the same 168 hours a week as you do, but they’re making different choices.
Serving your community doesn’t have to be big or loud. It looks like:
- Helping a neighbor shovel snow or mow the lawn
- Supporting a local business instead of ordering online
- Volunteering at a local food shelf or participating in a drive
- Coaching a kids’ sports team
- Picking up trash at the park or on a walk
- Saying hello to someone who looks new, lost, or lonely
These things matter. They build roots. And they show our kids what it looks like to be part of something bigger than themselves.
At our company, we believe deeply in community. We don’t just place people in jobs—we help them find stability, growth, and pride in their work. That’s economic impact, but it’s also human impact. We want to be known as people who show up & care. Who wave the hometown flag. Who invest in the long game. Who live with presence and purpose. Because whether you wear a sash and crown or steel-toed boots and a ballcap, you’re representing something.
So the question is: How are you showing up? And what kind of legacy are you leaving for the generation behind you?
