12 Days of Christmas Stories: Day 8

Day 8: Uncertainty.

There’s a severe weather/blizzard forecast for the holidays and it has me thinking about the power of uncertainty over our lives and the importance of being prepared, planful, and faithful. We weren’t created to do this thing called life alone, and today I want to highlight stories about folks who have taken on life bit by bit, who have found successes by building on each step along the way, faced uncertainty, and for those that have made it through a storm…

  • When our customers have internal changes, the relationship goes away and we need to ensure we’re always demonstrating our value – this year we came out of the storm with one particular customer who, after several years now, said we were their #1 recruiting firm, it feels so good to know that we have space to do what we do best and they see it again!
  • Mo started working for us in a temporary position, when it ended we got her a long term position and when she started working she was honest, respectful and gave notice with great feedback – it wasn’t a good fit for her. Then, she returned to the temporary position/customer because they loved each other and she was ultimately hired on perm. SO happy for you, Mo!
  • Toby was an excellent communicator when we met him, but technology was a barrier to his success. He worked diligently to make sure his experience could shine and he overcame the technology component – he’s surely shining bright, thanks for the commitment Toby – and thanks for referring your family!
  • Cindy’s position came to an abrupt halt leaving her in the land of the unknown. She had bills to pay and was totally blindsided. She asked for more work immediately. We talked about opportunities and got her working right away – it was a perfect fit. She has been fantastic, the client asks for a carbon copy of her – fast, efficient, great quality work, attendance, and just stand out! She weathered the storm!
  • Collette came to us from working in the military and transitioned into working in quality where she was passionate about quality assurance. She was facing life challenges – her mom was super sick and she was caring for her, and she required some accommodations to make that happen. She was unhappy where she was currently working but unsure if she’d find somewhere else that was the right fit. After she interviewed she was confident in jumping ship. She was worried she’d be low rank and not understood, but upon meeting with the supervisor she was at peace with the big decision because she felt like a whole person within the organization. So very cool! She’s thriving 😊
  • Pacey was a college graduate with an engineering degree – who didn’t want to be an engineer straight away, he wanted hands on experience to position him to be a better engineer! How cool is that? We still remember meeting with him, he was humble and kind, and you could feel his integrity. He started as a painter, and was doing really great work and eventually felt ready to move into an engineering role. He was interviewing for open positions and doing great but wasn’t getting the position. He was left in the unknown. He kept showing up, he kept doing the work and he trusted the process and we’re so grateful he did. Behind the scenes we were working hard at being a voice for him and it turns out the perfect position opened up using his skills from working on the floor just on the engineering side now and he’s positioned well to be successful. SO proud of him!

See you back here tomorrow for more fun 😊
