DAY 1: Ta-Dah!
That’s what my almost 2 year old little guy says from his bed each morning so I know he’s ready to get up. You better believe that puts a huge smile on my face.
With that in mind – Ta-Dah! Here I am, back for more stories as we wrap up 2020 – a year many have considered to be filled with darkness. Have no fear, I am still here to spread holiday cheer! I now have TWO kids, and surely my perspective on life continues to grow and change as do I; one thing remains true – and that’s my steadfast commitment to saying thanks and telling the stories of the good work our team at Vision is doing every single day. I’m over the moon thrilled to be here again to share their stories of impact – One Person at a Time.
A few COVID related stories to get us started 😊
• From an employee, we’ll call him Duane: “I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you thanks again for everything. I do appreciate it. A lot has gone down in our tenure together and I just want to thank you for sticking by me. Nobody knows what lies ahead for any one of us but I wanted to express some positively and gratitude in these trying times. There is just not enough of that going around!”
• From our very own: “We are working remotely these days, and it’s easy to feel a little disconnected from each other and especially candidates you’ve never met. So I’m sharing this because 1) it’s wonderful! and 2) it reminds us that we are STILL touching people’s lives even if we can’t connect in person right now. I love being here! …this is why we do what we do” 😊…..
• I was doing a drug screen so I had time to talk to Al and his mother, who drove him here. When we got our “pass” at last, Al and his mother could not stop thanking me for my help – and his recruiter for finding him this job! His mother was in joyful tears, telling me how much it meant to her. She has no family here; they are all in Nairobi. Her husband died in 2017 and she’s been raising their three children alone. Ali left college to get a better job and it broke her heart, but now – with this job – he has plans to return. His future means the world to her.’
Merry Christmas to you and yours,
Heather

I didn’t follow this last year, but I am sure to this year. Positivity is so very much needed – everyone needs good stories!
Thank you for your comment, Kate! We agree, everyone needs good stories! 🙂
How awesome to be supporting local businesses during these very uncertain times!
Thank you, Charity! And thank you for all your hard work, we appreciate you!
Last year I stumbled on the 12 day list and it was so inspiring I am keeping up this year every day. Yes to using local businesses as you spread the joy and give a shot of cash to each business . Many are your neighbors and they need you. Please do not put myself in any drawing or receiver because I only want to have your continued friendship as a gift. I have admired all of the years that your company and it’s predecessor has helped people get to work, get on their feet and get a life. You all are like the Adult and Teen Challenge of employment! Keep it up, continue the legacy, improve the community one person at a time and keep the smiles coming as you write the true stories, David Foy
Thank you for your kind comments, David. We appreciate the opportunity to make a difference, one person at a time and support our communities. 🙂
