12 Days of Christmas Stories 2021: Day 8

Give more, Smile more, Care more.

It’s not a difficult concept – be nice. Have you ever been frustrated with customer service you’ve received or in feeling like a number and not a real person? Perhaps you find yourself just longing to talk to someone who actually cared for once? What could the world be like if we all gave a little bit more? Or gave, smiled, or cared without the expectation of it in return – no strings attached? It starts right here…

  • Jessica worked for 2 days and her position abruptly ended. She is the nicest person, we cheered her on when we knew she was getting married, we were by her side as she tried to find her home. She’s hands on, friendly and just wants to work. We listened, and cared, and she did too. She went somewhere else and was hired on in no time. Jessica, I hope you’re coming on Tuesday bc I can’t wait to meet you and thank you in person!
  • I love this one – Odin’s mom saw we had a job fair on Facebook, he was only 17 at the time. He did a welding program in high school and some at a local tech college and was trying to find a good place to land for his career. They both came to the job fair, LOVED it, the supervisor loved him. It was a bummer because he was only 17 but we made some phone calls and got an exception approved through insurance, wrote up a unique job description to fit the criteria for his age and created a space for him. Offer extended and accepted. Odin tells his grandpa about his new job and learns that his grandpa worked there for years and even retired from there! Needless to say he was hired on perm and has found a place to call home for the long term. Why did we go to great lengths? Because we care. Sometimes I call this kind of thing magic, but this one I call divine intervention.
  • John worked for us at a customer that ultimately didn’t work out because of the shift and location. He wanted to be closer to home. “Thank you, for considering what I really wanted and needed and not for just sending me anywhere”

So do you think you can do it? Think you can bring a little more than yesterday?

See you tomorrow,

Heather
